P.B.I.S. and Character Education
The premise of PBIS is that continual teaching, combined with acknowledgement or feedback of positive student behavior will reduce unnecessary discipline and promote a climate of greater productivity, safety and learning. Student earn blue (classroom), yellow(bus), pink(around building) tickets for positive behavior. Students then turn in their tickets for weekly prizes such as just dance party, freeze pops, popcorn, gym party , art party, and leading pledge on the morning announcements.
PBIS:
· Is evidence-based and data driven
· Is proven to reduce disciplinary incidents
· Increases a school’s sense of safety
· Supports improved academic outcomes
· Uses a multi-tiered approach to intervention
Ms. Ferguson and Mrs. Cowart appear on the news show daily to talk about the "Mustang Manner" tip of the day. Each week we focus on a different topic that addresses a facet of our school creed.
"As a member of the Ferguson Elementary team, I am always respectful,
responsible, and a role model to others. I treat others the way I want to be treated and believe that anything is possible."
